By exploring the geology to local public spaces, urban geology tours provide an opportunity to link geology with cultural and historically significant sites.
Haliburton House, Windsor
In 2021 the Haliburton House Museum initiated a pilot self-guided tour of the museum grounds, providing information about local geology of gypsum mines, sinkholes, but also historic apple orchards and linkages with history of geoscience. Dartmouth Common Park
In conjunction with the Geological Association of Canada meeting Halifax 2022, a self-guided urban geology tour was produced to highlight the glacial geology features and history that is present in the historic Dartmouth Common, Leighton Dillman Park.
