Geodiversity Day 2025

Monday October 6, 2025.
Geodiversity Day in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark

A Drawing in Geoparks special celebration of International Geodiversity Day will start at Spencers Island as the sun rises over Cape Split. After spending the morning looking for ancient footprints among the Carboniferous rocks along the shore, we will chase the incoming tide and drive the length of the Geopark to see the tidal bore arrive at the Fundy Discovery Site. After lunch we will follow the falling tide moving west and stay at Five Islands Provincial Park. A geopark icon will be etched into the intertidal sandflats as we look for Jurassic dinosaur footprints and photograph the sun setting over the islands.
